Police: Seneca Falls man strangled woman in front of 6 young children

Waterloo, N.Y. (WHAM) - A man from Seneca Falls was arrested by Seneca County Sheriff's deputies Thursday after he allegedly strangled a woman unconscious.

Deputies said they were called to a home on Rt. 96 in Waterloo around 8:30 a.m. for a reported domestic dispute.

As deputies arrived at the home, 30-year-old Steven Grillone was leaving the home. Deputies say Grillone broke multiple items in the home while six children under the age of 12 were in the home.

Investigators said Gillone then strangled a 35-year-old woman until she fell unconscious.

Grillone was arrested and charged with two counts of felony strangulation 2nd, harassment 2nd, two counts of criminal mischief 4th, six counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal contempt 2nd.

Grillone was arraigned and remanded to the Seneca County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 secure bond. He is scheduled to be back in court on January 23 at 4:30 p.m.
