RCSD hiring teachers for 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years
Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) – The Rochester City School District is now hiring teachers for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years.
Those who are interested can attend a teacher recruitment event on Saturday, November 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will be held at the school district’s offices on West Broad Street.
The District says it’s prepared to make job offers on the spot to qualified candidates.
Candidates have until Wednesday, November 15 to complete or update the RCSD online application. That will confirm their attendance and allow them to receive an invitation to schedule an interview at the Saturday event.
During the interview, candidates will be asked to present a lesson plan that showcases their skills and passion to be an urban teaching professional.
“Every child deserves to have a certified teacher in front of him or her on the first day of school,” said Superintendent Barbara Deane-Williams. “This is why the District is focused squarely on implementing our new Early Hiring initiative, to recruit mission-driven teachers who have a passion for serving urban children and want to work in partnership with parents and the community.”
Candidates will also have a chance to meet Superintendent Deane-Williams and other District leaders.
