Home debut for Roc City Roller Derby

A double header to begin the home season for Roc City Roller Derby Saturday night.

Rochester, N.Y. - A enthusiastic crowd helped some tough gals kick off their season at the Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex Saturday night.

The Roc City Roller Derby held their home debut, and a double header, no less.

The league was founded in 2008 and continues to go strong.

"It's a big rush," said one of the players during the night's events. "It's a lot of work, they push us really hard. It's way more physically demanding than I ever imagined, but also it's really rewarding and I've made some of the best friends of my life here."

The next home competition is in May. For more information on the Derby, click here.
