Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Starting next week, the Greater Rochester International Airport will be moving one of its security checkpoints for peak travel times.

Airport officials said the checkpoint, which will have two lanes, will be added on Tuesday, January 16. It will be adjacent to the American Airlines ticketing counter.

The airport typically has six checkpoint lanes. However, due to ongoing construction in the main terminal area, two of those lanes were removed temporarily. The two lanes being added near the American Airlines ticketing counter will remain there until the end of October. This is when the airport revitalization construction is slated to be completed.

Peak travel periods at ROC Airport are generally from 4:30-6:30 a.m., 9:30-11:30 a.m., and 3-4:30 p.m.

As always, passengers are reminded to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before their departure times.
