Rochester day care worker faces child porn, enticement charges

Christopher Mason, who works for a daycare center in Rochester, is charged with child pornography and online enticement of a minor.

Rochester, N.Y. - A Rochester man who works for a daycare center in the city is charged with the production of child pornography and online enticement of a minor.

Christopher Mason, 37, faces 10 years to life in prison, and a $250,000 fine.

The Rochester Police Department was notified. The department then alerted the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force.

According to authorities, the complaint states that investigators recovered online chats between the Mason and the child.

The chats allegedly showed that Mason was soliciting the child to engage in sexual acts with him and attempting to get the girl to produce sexually explicit photos and videos for him.

Federal agents later discovered that Mason was affiliated with a residential day care center in Rochester. Paperwork from authorities indicated that Mason did not meet the child there.

A detention hearing for Mason is scheduled for Friday, June 16, 2017.
