Rochester man seriously injured in Genesee County rollover crash

Darien, N.Y. (WHAM) - The Genesee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a car crash in the Town of Darien, that seriously injured a Rochester man.

It happened on Simonds Road shortly before 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Deputies say 52-year-old Timothy Rohl of Rochester was driving on Sumner Road when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the road.

The car then traveled off the east shoulder of Simonds Road, rolled over, and came to rest in a field, according to deputies.

Rohl was taken to Erie County Medical Center via Mercy Flight with serious injuries.

A passenger in the car, 45-year-old Christine Ost suffered minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation and charges are pending.

Deputies say unsafe speed is a contributing factor in the crash.
