Rochester marks World AIDS Day
Rochester, N.Y. - Friday is World AIDS Day and to mark it, Trillium Health held a fundraiser at ARTISANworks.
Proceeds from the event will be used to further efforts to end HIV by 2020.
Trillium Health has been serving local HIV and AIDS patients since the beginning of the epidemic.
"We're very honored to pause and remember the many lives lost, and also to share the hope that we indeed can achieve an AIDS-free generation in our lifetime," said Trillium Health president and CEO Andrea DeMeo.
The George Eastman Museum was also lit in red tonight in honor of World AIDS Day.
About 3,000 people in the Rochester area are living with HIV.
