'Rochester Snow-Down Days' helps make city more accessible
Rochester, N.Y. - The 'Rochester Snow-Down Days' helped make the city more accessible Saturday.
Reconnect Rochester organized the day of shoveling along State Street and Lake Avenue.
Saturday was just one of many 'Rochester Snow-Down Days.'
Ericka Jones from the Center for Disability Rights says she's gotten stuck on a snow covered sidewalk in the past and doesn't want it to happen to someone else.
"I ended up having to call 911 one day, which was pretty embarrassing and I was not properly dressed for a couple hours while the snow fell on me," said Jones. "If they hadn't have come I don't know what I would have had to do."
Jones tells 13WHAM, everyone on Saturday was volunteering their time to make the sidewalks more accessible.
