RPD warns people to lock their cars, hide valuables
Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - The Rochester Police Department's Central Section wants to remind people to lock their cars and not leave valuables inside.
The reminder is part of the section's "Lock It Or Lose It' campaign.
Police usually respond to car larcenies in Corn Hill 4-5 times per month, or once a week. An officer investigates each larceny in person instead of referring it to 311, and a technician processes significant physical evidence in the car.
"The most important thing people can do is remove their valuables from their car, and lock it," according to Central Section officers.
In addition, officers added, "we do reverse 911 to calls to residents if there is an ongoing pattern in the area."
