State Police looking for clues in East Rochester man's 2005 disappearance

East Rochester/Walworth, N.Y. (WHAM) - State Police investigators are asking for the public's help to find new clues in a missing person investigation from 2005.

Police said William Zani Jr., who would be 53 today, went missing on October 25, 2005. He was last seen around 5 p.m. walking south on Walworth Ontario Road in Walworth. Investigators and search teams conducted a massive search of the area, but were unable to find him.

On May 3, 2006, another massive search of the area was conducted. There was no one found, police say.

Neighbors and relatives were interviewed extensively, but to no avail. There was no evidence of foul play.

Zani was reportedly taking medication for depression at the time of his disappearance. He is described as 5’11” tall, weighing 200 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information about Zani is asked to call New York State Police barracks in Williamson at (315) 589-2046. Calls can be kept confidential.
