Thanksgiving pie pick-up day for Holy Childhood bakery
Henrietta, N.Y. (WHAM) - It was pie pick-up day at Holy Childhood Tuesday.
More than 600 pies made by workers at the Special Touch Bakery in Henrietta will be gone by the end of the day.
The pies were made just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Special Touch Bakery provides training and employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
"I like to support the school and individuals who work here and I've had pies here before and they are really good," said Patrick Gibbons, who brought a couple pies at the bakery. "So you've got the quality of the pies and supporting a really good organization."
More than 16,000 pies are baked each year by Special Touch Bakery. They are available year-round at Holy Childhood and various retail stores across the Rochester area.
