Therapeutic horse program in Webster looking for volunteers
WEBSTER, N.Y. (WHAM) - A therapeutic horsemanship program in Webster needs volunteers for its next session.
Heritage Christian Stables will be running a session from February 26 until April 21 and needs both horse leaders and side walkers.
Horse leaders are responsible for the horse during the lessons, helping to lead the horse and rider around the ring. Side walkers work with the rider during the lesson, providing support as needed.
The program serves children and adults. Lessons happen Monday through Friday at various times throughout each day and evening.
Volunteers will be required to commit to a weekly schedule and will need to attend an initial orientation as well as hands-on training. The two-hour orientation training is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 18.
Anyone looking to volunteer can contact Heritage at (585) 340-2016 or email here.
