Unnecessary travel ban lifted for Monroe County

Statement from Monroe County Thursday morning:

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo has rescinded the county’s avoid unnecessary travel warning as of 5:00 A. M. However, residents should continue to respect local travel restrictions put in place by town governments. While this warning has been rescinded, it is very important that residents use caution when traveling around the area as there are still downed trees and power lines on roadways and there are still intersections with nonfunctioning traffic signals. Travelers should treat nonfunctioning traffic signals as 4-way stops. As a result of ongoing travel conditions, drivers should expect slower moving traffic and leave extra time for their trips. Before leaving for your destination, consult local television and radio stations for closing information
