Upgraded Internet speeds coming for Spectrum in Rochester
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHAM) - Spectrum is touting an upgrade in download speeds for Internet in Rochester.
The change of 66 Mbps to 100 Mbps is available free of charge to most customers, according to Spectrum Area Vice President of Western New York Mark Fitchett.
The company has automatically increased speeds for current Spectrum Internet residential customers and Spectrum Business® Internet clients in Rochester.
In March, Spectrum began its new packaging and pricing model for consumers in Rochester.
A small percentage of Spectrum Internet customers will need a new modem to receive the faster speeds. Those customers will be contacted directly with information about exchanging their modems. Spectrum did not say if it would be an additional cost to the customers.
The change applies only to people under the Spectrum Internet plan. Customers who are still under the Time Warner Cable Internet plan will have to switch over to Spectrum plans and pricing to get the speed upgrades.
