Village of Pittsford passes development moratorium
Pittsford, NY - The Pittsford Village Board Tuesday night unanimously passed a year-long moratorium on new development in the village.
The mayor previously said the moratorium would not prevent developers from submitting applications, but they would not be considered until the moratorium is lifted.
Perhaps the most high-profile proposal impacted is Wilmorite's plan to buy land from the Powers family and redevelop part of Schoen Place near the Erie Canal.
Wilmorite wants to build a boutique hotel and spa, along with new retail.
When asked if legal action is planned, the company said that all options are on the table.
