Walk to downtown MCC campus marks beginning of new chapter
Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Students and faculty from Monroe Community College (MCC) celebrated the beginning of a new chapter in the college's history Friday.
Supporters of MCC joined the group as they took part in a celebratory walk to MCC's new downtown campus.
The walk started at Sibley Square on E. Main Street and ended at the downtown campus on State Street.
The celebration had a dual meaning: it was also the last day of classes at MCC.
The buildings, which were once part of Eastman Kodak's corporate offices, are being renovated and redesigned.
The seven-floor campus will include a bookstore, cafe, learning commons, event space, high-tech labs and a fitness center for students to use.
The campus is expected to open this fall. You can learn more about the project here.
