Wegmans Pharmacies providing flu shots for children 5 and older

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Wegmans Pharmacies are now offering Flu shots for children ages 5 and older.

The move comes after Governor Andrew Cuomo's executive order to increase flu vaccine accessibility for children and families in New York State.

No appointment or prescription is necessary.

Adult flu shots and high-dose shots for seniors are also available.

The flu has been rampant in New York State this year. There have been 52,567 laboratory confirmed cases since February 3rd.

There has also been 11,802 hospitalizations, and three pediatric flu-related deaths.

Wegmans Pharmacy can also fill Tamiflu prescriptions. Pharmacists are available to speak with customers and answer questions about influenza vaccinations, available antiviral drugs, and insurance policy coverage.
