Your Stories: Contractor misses payment
Rochester, N.Y. - Several homeowners contacted 13WHAM about Dynabuild Owner George Frisch and his business practice.
They claim Frisch took deposits for the contracted work, but he didn't show up or finish the job as promised.
Since our report, Firsch seemed like he was making a good faith effort to pay back his debt.
However, Roofer Michael Phillips is warning homeowners to make sure the payment clears. Phillips says he did a job for Frisch last year and was never paid the $2,000 he was owed. He filed a lawsuit in small claims court, but Frisch never showed up and never paid him the money.
A dad of four, Phillips says he could've used the money because it was right around Christmas last year.
"I want all of us to get paid," says Phillips. "If it was up to him, my kids would've had no Christmas."
Chrissy Buduson of Greece was promised $1,400 by close of business Friday. She hired Frisch to install new sliding glass doors in January. He never finished the job.
As of Friday night, Buduson says Frisch missed the initial 5 p.m. deadline. Then a second 6 p.m. deadline she had offered.
She shared this text message she received from Frisch: "I will be taking care of you guys. Please, bear with me. But it won't be until Monday. By end of business day Monday you will have it in your hands."
Buduson says she has requested a money order or cashier's check and pointed out Monday is a holiday.
