Hostess recalls holiday Twinkies
(WHAM) - Hostess is voluntarily recalling its White Holiday Peppermint Twinkies.
According to the FDA, the report states the reason for the recall is the confectionery coating around the product.
The milk powder used to create the coating was recalled by Valley Milk Products due to concerns of a Salmonella contamination.
No illnesses have been reported, and none of the products with the coating that have been tested contain Salmonella.
Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
Consumers who have purchased the affected product can return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Consumers with questions may contact (800) 483-7253 Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm EST.
