Tax season starts Monday

The Internal Revenue Service announced that the nation’s tax season will begin Monday, and reminded taxpayers claiming certain tax credits to expect a longer wait for refunds.

Employers have until January 31st to issue W-2 and 10-99 form to employees for them to send in their returns.

The deadline to file returns has been changed to Tuesday, April 18th, rather than the traditional April 15th deadline.

The IRS anticipates issuing most returns in less than 21 days, but there are some factors that cause your return to take longer to process.
