Rochester company turns you into your own figurine

Figurines of Scott Hetsko and Matt Molloy created by Rochester company Solidiphy.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A local company wants to bring your memories into a new dimension.

Inside the walls of Solidiphy, they are changing the way we capture important moments.

"It's one photo, it's like taking a selfie. It's instant,” said Conrad Ziemendorf, who constructed and operates the high tech photo booth for Solidiphy.

The booth features 8 towers each with 16 cameras, that's a total of 128 cameras all synced together.

"As you click the button they are all going at the same exact time which creates that image from every single angle that you can possibly get,” said Ziemendorf.

The images are then funneled into a software program to create a rough 3D image.

"That isn't exactly what gets printed right away. We have modelers that go through a process of cleaning them up because there are some spots that the cameras won't focus on as much,” said Ziemendorf.

From there they go to the 3D printers, then they are inspected and perfected by hand.

Scott Hetsko and I were printed as figurines and bobbleheads. They capture every detail, from the wrinkles in our clothing to the hair on our heads.

The company currently partners with companies like Carnival Cruise Line, Gulliver's Gate in New York City and the Planet Hollywood Miracle Mile Mall in Las Vegas.

"It's fun to see what they're wearing and all the crazy different things they do. It's something once you get one made of yourself you realize how different it is than other things out there,” said Ziemendorf.

All of the figurines are 3D printed back in Rochester and shipped around the world bringing people what Solidiphy calls, “the next generation of memories.”

From the day you take your pictures it takes about 10 days to get your figurine. Prices range from $30 to $180 depending on the size.
