Deputies say they received a call around 8:20 p.m. reporting that a woman had sustained several injuries after being involved in a physical altercation with a man at a local motel in Beatty.

Upon arrival, deputies located the 25-year-old victim who was suffering from multiple injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

According to the victim, her boyfriend - Jon Turner - began beating and choking her during an altercation, and left her unconscious on a nearby street.

When she regained consciousness, Turner took her to a local motel room where they had been staying and handcuffed her to furniture, the victim said.

The victim says that after handcuffing her, Turner continued to beat her and choke her, and eventually injured her with a hatchet.

Deputies say that the victim was able to free herself and exit the motel room to the motel's office to ask for help.

Turner was located by deputies nearby and later detained and questioned.

Following an investigation, detectives learned that Turner and the victim had been reported missing out of two separate jurisdictions in New York since August 25, 2017.

According to the victim, Turner reportedly forced her to leave New York State with him and threatened to kill her if she did not cooperate.

The victim's vehicle was abandoned and located by authorities in the Big Bear area of California, deputies said.

According to the sheriff's office, Turner was isolating the victim and did not allow her to make a phone call home to her family, leaving them with no information as to her whereabouts.

Deputies said that the victim and Turner spent time in Las Vegas before arriving in Beatty.

According to the victim, Turner sexually assaulted her during the two weeks the pair spent in Beatty.

The victim was treated at a Las Vegas Hospital, deputies said.
