Police: Two injured at mall after accidental gun discharge

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. (AP) -- Police evacuated a mall in New York's Hudson Valley amid reports of a shooting on a crowded holiday-shopping Sunday.

Turns out, it may have been from the accidental discharge of a gun, according to the Woodbury Police Department.

The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. at the Galleria at Crystal Run in Middletown, about 70 miles north of midtown Manhattan.

Police say a round hit the floor, then ricocheted off glass, injuring two people. They are expected to survive.

The incident was reported at an American Eagle store.
