NYS now requires manufacturers to disclose chemicals in cleaning products
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will now require manufacturers to disclose chemical ingredients in cleaning products.
The DEC launched the Household Cleansing Product Information Disclosure Program. Governor Cuomo had introduced the program in his 2017 State of the State address.
The Household Cleansing Product Information Disclosure program requires manufacturers of cleaning products sold in New York to disclose chemical ingredients on their websites. That will include fragrances, and all byproducts, and any impurity due to environmental contamination
New York State is the first State to require such disclosures.
