Deputies: Driver flees scene of crash, arrested for DWI

Chili, N.Y. - Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies say a driver fled the scene of a crash early Saturday morning and was then arrested for DWI.

It happened around 7:00 a.m. on Chili Avenue near Dortmund Circle.

Deputies say 26-year-old David Harmon of Rochester was driving east on Chili Avenue when he swerved and hit an oncoming vehicle.

According to deputies, Harmon then fled the scene on foot. He was later located and identified as the driver.

The driver of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Harmon was not injured in the crash.

Harmon is charged with DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation and leaving the scene of a physical injury accident. He was also ticketed for multiple traffic infractions.

After an investigation, deputies discovered Harmon had 33 previous suspensions.
