Man sentenced for murdering Rochester teen in Nov. 2014
Rochester, N.Y. - A Rochester man was sentenced to 25 years to life for murdering a 19-year-old man on his way to school.
Brian Baxter Jr., 20, was convicted in the November 6, 2014 murder of Quadrey Henderson-Speed.
Henderson-Speed was walking to his school bus stop on Jefferson Avenue near Seward Street when Baxter approached him from behind and fired six shots, striking him once in the back.
Henderson-Speed died at the scene from a single gunshot wound that hit his heart.
"As a result of today's sentencing, the community is a safer place," said Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Buckley. We applaud the courage of our witnesses in this case as their testimony, coupled with the investigative work of the Rochester Police Department, led to a successful prosecution and justice was served."
