Police: Albion woman arrested for drinking alcohol while driving with child in car

Albion, N.Y. - The Albion Police Department says an Albion woman has been arrested for drinking alcohol while driving with a child in the car.

Police say they responded to a one-car crash on Hamilton Street Friday night.

They say the vehicle, driven by 39-year-old Courtney Robertson, left the road and hit a utility pole.

According to police, Robertson was intoxicated and drinking an alcoholic beverage at the time of the crash. Her 6-year-old child was also in the car.

The child was uninjured, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Robertson was not injured and was taken into police custody at the scene.

She is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra's Law, DWI, consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle, driving with no seat belt on and moving lanes unsafely.

Robertson will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charged.
