It's a healthier option than simple oatmeal, and surprisingly easy to make! At the Diner, Jerry will add curried spices or all kinds of other fruit to jazz it up. Here is the basic recipe, and feel free to mix and match to create your own spin!

2 cups water
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon salt
Bring the water, milk, and salt to a boil.
Add 1 cup of steel cut oats.
Simmer 25 to 30 minutes.
Off heat, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla.

Then, your choice: Add a pinch of sugar, or a tablespoon of honey, or a tablespoon of maple syrup.
