Whaley Will Replace Nix as Bills GM - 05/14/13

Doug Whaley will become the new general manager of the Buffalo Bills, replacing Buddy Nix who will remain with the team as a special assistant. Whaley had been hired three years ago from the Pittsburgh Steelers and had been the heir apparent to Nix over the past couple of seasons.

Nix, 73, has been the Bills general manger for the last 3 seasons as they looked to rebuild the team on the field and get back to the playoffs,. He had told the media and fans that he was prepared to turn things over the Whaley when the time was right but wanted to get a franchise quarterback drafted for Buffalo. This past month,m Nix and the Bills selected EJ Manuel of Florida St who they believe can be the franchise quarterback.
