Former Bills head coach Chuck Knox dies at 86
Former Buffalo Bills head coach Chuck Knox has died at the age of 86.
Knox, perhaps best known for his time with the Rams and Seahawks organizations, was also extremely successful during a brief stint in Buffalo. He coached the Bills from 1978-1982, leading Buffalo to the playoffs in the '80 and '81 seasons.
Knox was named AP coach of the year in 1980, and guided Buffalo to a playoff win in the 1981 AFC Wild Card game over the New York Jets.
Knox had been suffering from dimensia.
