Eichel signs eight-year deal with Sabres
Buffalo, N.Y. - Jack Eichel will be sticking with the Buffalo Sabres for a while. Two nights before the Sabres open the 2017-18 season, the team announced that they had come to terms with their young star on an 8 year contract extension worth $80 million dollars. Eichel's deal is less than the one recently signed by the top draft picks from 3 years ago, Connor McDavid of Edmonton. While the league MVP McDavid will earn $12.5 million starting next season, Eichel's $10 million per year has him ranked as the 6th highest paid player in the NHL.
This is a developing story. 13WHAM will provide more information as it becomes available.
