Bills camp goes live, RB depth goes into focus on Saturday

Bills fans in attendance at Saturday night's practice got to see something nobody else had through the first week at training camp.
Practice went live at times on Saturday night at St. John Fisher, and while the offense had its moments, it was once again the defense that looked like the better unit.
Fred Jackson meanwhile sat out practice with a minor injury to his lower leg, but is expected to be fine. But Fred's age, C.J. Spiller's contract situation, and an unproven quarterback remind us about the importance of depth in the backfield. The Bills have just that in Bryce Brown, who they acquired in a draft day trade with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Brown for now is third on the depth chart behind Jackson and Spiller, and that's fine, but that doesn't mean he's not preparing to play.
