Zach Nuding picked up his second career Triple-A win, holding the Red Wings scoreless over eight innings, as the Scranton/WB RailRiders clipped the Wings, 2-0, Saturday night at PNC Field in Moosic, PA.
Nuding, who came in with an 8.83 ERA in four starts with the RailRiders this season, didn't walk a batter, allowed only three hits and struck out six over his eight shutout frames guiding Scranton to their first win over Rochester since last July. The loss snaps the Wings' eight-game win streak over the Yankees top affiliate.

Rochester (25-22) mounted a ninth inning rally off Scranton reliever Jose Ramirez, as a two-out walk to Deibinson Romero loaded the bases for Pedro Florimon who entered the game in the eighth inning in Josh Willingham's spot. Florimon worked the count to 2-2, but lifted the sixth pitch of the at-bat to former Red Wing Antoan Richardson in centerfield who squeezed it for the final out.
The Wings have now been shutout four times this season, with all four coming in the last 17 games - including two shutouts in the last five days.
After allowing a lead-off single to James Beresford in the first inning, Nuding retired the next 17 Red Wings in order before Beresford led off the seventh with a double to left-center.
The Wings second baseman would move to third on a base hit from Oswaldo Arcia, but Romero popped out to shallow right and Nuding got Willingham to roll into a 5-4-3 inning-ending double play to end the threat.
Nuding would work a 1-2-3 eighth inning before being lifted prior to the ninth despite throwing only 86 pitches.
Beresford finished 3-for-4 with a double.
Logan Darnell (1-2) suffered the tough-luck loss as he went six innings allowing just two runs on three hits.
Scranton grabbed the 1-0 lead courtesy of a Jose Pirela one-out, RBI double in the third inning. Austin Romine, who was issued a lead-off walk by Darnell, came around to score from second.
The RailRiders made it 2-0 in the sixth inning on a two-out, solo home run by Scott Sizemore - his first homer of the season.
The Red Wings send southpaw Kris Johnson (3-2, 2.08) to the hill on Sunday afternoon as they look to take the finale and win the series. First pitch from PNC Field is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
