The playoffs are a time of celebration, but also a time of heartbreak.
Some seasons continued, some came to a sudden end on Saturday.
On the football field, Section VI continued it's dominance of Section V right up until the last game of the weekend. After sweeping both contests yesterday, Buffalo area schools won the first two games of the day Saturday. Cleveland Hill topped Way-Co in Class C 46-20 before Depew beat Geneva 29-9 in Class B.
Aquinas and Jamestown are in progress in the Class AA game, with the Lil Irish leading 28-12 in the third.
Section V has enjoyed much more success on the pitch, and that continued Saturday. Fairport, Pittsford Mendon, and Jasper Troupsburg all advanced to the boys soccer finals. Honeoye Falls-Lima and Jasper Troupsburg will represent Section V in the girls finals as well.
The success continued on the volleyball court, as Mercy and Pittsford Sutherland advanced to the Class AA and A finals respectively.
And finally the Brighton field hockey team advanced to the Class B final with an overtime win Saturday.
