For the first time in the nine year history of the Courage Bowl, the matchup was not St. John Fisher and the U of R. Instead, Fisher played host to Alfred.
But the matchup is always secondary to the event itself.
St. John Fisher won the ninth annual Courage Bowl 48-13. The Courage Bowl benefits Camp Good Days and Special Times, a local organization that helps improve the quality of life for children and the families unfortunately touched by Cancer.
The game also gives some kids a chance to be a part of something they may never get to experience as a player, and that's a college football game.
Fisher trailed 7-0 going into the second quarter, but scored 41 points to take a huge lead into halftime.
