Isaiah Stewart leaves McQuaid for La Lumiere Prep in Indiana
The top basketball player in Section V is taking his talent to the top team in the country.
Isaiah Stewart, a hands-down top fifty recruit in the class of 2019, is leaving McQuaid Jesuit for a spot with the defending national champs at La Lumiere in Indiana.
Stewart exploded on to the scene in 2015-16 as a freshman with the Jesuit Knights. While he missed most of the 2016-'17 season with an injury, he came back and helped lead his team to the Section V semifinals.
The 16-year-old is the latest boys basketball star to leave for prep school. Jeenathan Williams ('18) left U-Prep for Prolific Prep in California earlier this summer. Thomas Bryant bolted Bishop Kearney in 2013 for Huntington Prep in West Virginia. He eventually played his college ball at Indiana, and was drafted in the second round by the Los Angeles Lakers this summer.
