Brighton baseball player Ernie Clement really started thinking about pro baseball in the last year.

Part of a national power at the University of Virginia, the smooth fielding shortstop and second baseman found himself moving up the in the draft rankings.

As his junior year came to an end at Virginia, Clement took to the draft and waited for his call.

On Tuesday, the Cleveland Indians scout who followed Clement's career called to tell him he would be selected in round 4 by the Indians.

With his family watching in Brighton, Clement got to hear his name called and then celebrate with those closest to him.
