Park's homer leads Rochester to 6-4 win over Pawtucket
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) -- ByungHo Park hit a two-run homer in the first inning, leading the Rochester Red Wings to a 6-4 win over the Pawtucket Red Sox on Friday.
Alex Wimmers got Matt Dominguez to hit into a forceout with runners on first and second to end the game for his seventh save of the season.
The home run by Park scored Levi Michael to give the Red Wings a 2-0 lead.
After Rochester added three runs in the second, the Red Sox cut into the deficit in the third inning when Brian Bogusevic hit a three-run home run.
The Red Wings tacked on another run in the seventh when Tommy Field scored on a double play.
Pawtucket saw its comeback attempt come up short after Dominguez hit a solo home run in the eighth inning to cut the Rochester lead to 6-4.
Rochester right-hander Aaron Slegers (15-4) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing three runs on six hits over 6 2/3 innings. Opposing starter Brian Johnson (3-4) took the loss in the International League game after giving up five runs and seven hits over six innings.
With the win, Rochester improved to 10-4 against Pawtucket this season.
