Pittsford lacrosse stunned by Ward Melville in Class A NYS finals
It all happened so fast for the Panthers. Pittsford was up 9-5 over Ward Melville until just over a minute left in regulation, but the Patriots stormed back. Ward Melville scored four goals in 53 seconds to tie things up at 9. Then in overtime, the Patriots used that momentum to steal away the Class A championship 10-9. Pittsford's appearance in the state finals marked their first ever in program history.
