Sabres showing early commitment to Amerks this offseason
Jason Botterill said when he was hired that the Rochester Americans would be a vital part of the Buffalo Sabres success moving forward.
So far, he's been a man of his word.
The Sabres hired Randy Sexton as assistant general manager on Monday, but more importantly to Rochester, he will serve as Amerks GM. Later in the same day, the team announced the signing of defenseman Taylor Fedun to a two-year, two-way deal. Fedun proved to be an excellent player in Rochester last year, but also one that could capably fill in with the Sabres when he was needed.
There is still a lot of offseason left, and the Amerks don't have a head coach yet, but it feels like the franchise finally has a little momentum again.
Mike Catalana and Toby Motyka discuss what's happening to the Amerks now, and what could happen to them in the future.
