Starting in 2020, PGA moving championships back from August to May
Oak Hill Country Club is hosting the PGA Championship in 2023. They will just have to get the course ready earlier. The PGA of America, in conjunction with the PGA Tour, has reworked the golf schedule beginning in 2019. The PGA Championship moves from August to May.
The earlier dates for the tournament can create issues for courses in the north, like Oak Hill. But Tim Thaney, the President of Oak Hill Country Club tells is they believe changes being made at the course in 2019 will help them be prepared for play in the normally cooler month of May
Oak Hill will get a run at a major in May when the club once again hosts the Senior PGA Championship in 2019.
