The great year for Livonia baseball continues long after the program's first state championship.

Starting pitcher and Binghamton University commit Reid Van Scoter was named the NYS Class B player of the year by the New York State Sportswriters Association. His coach Scott Gilman was named Class B coach of the year.

Van Scoter has been a star for the Bulldogs for years, but was the most dominant player on what proved to be the most dominant team in 2017. The soon to be Bearcat threw multiple no-hitters, and came up big in big games all season long.

He was joined on the first team by shortstop John Smith.
