Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - The head coach of the Rochester Americans was fired Friday by the new Buffalo Sabres general manager.

The Buffalo Sabres announced Dan Lambert has been relieved of his duties. He had been head coach for one season.

“I would like to thank Dan for his hard work and contributions to our organization during the last two seasons and I wish him the best in the future,” said Sabres General Manager Jason Botterill.

The search for a new head coach will begin immediately, according to Botterill.

The Amerks have now had four different head coaches in the last four years.
