Gee stays sharp, Wings win again 4-1
Rochester baseball fans may not get to see Bartolo Colon pitch, but another former big leaguer is dazzling in his place.
Dillon Gee tossed seven scoreless innings, and four different players drove in runs, as the Red Wings beat the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs for the second straight night 4-1.
Gee, who went 40-37 for the Mets over six seasons, has been perfect in three starts with Rochester. The 31-year-old is 2-0 with a 0.00 era, nine hits allowed, and eight strikeouts over 15 innings.
Byung Ho Park, Matt Hague, Engelb Vielma and Niko Goodrum all drove in a run for the Red Wings, who improved to 51-40 with the win.
The two teams will wrap up their four game set Sunday at 1:35. The Wings will return home Monday with a doubleheader against Buffalo.
