RPD busy post-Puerto Rican fest
Rochester, N.Y. -- After the Puerto Rican festival ended Sunday evening, Rochester Police have been busy keeping pedestrians and vehicles moving.
Police tell 13WHAM News that as of 10 p.m., at least 14 arrests have been made, mostly for disorderly conduct.
Additionally, officers have been using long range acoustician devices to keep crowds moving. Officers have also had to use pepper ball guns multiple times to move crowds.
Rural Metro also responded to one 14-year-old struck by a vehicle no word on their condition at this time.
No officers have been hurt. About 100 RPD officers are working.
The Rochester Police Department has announced a press conference for 10:30 p.m. where they will outline preliminary arrest numbers, which are subject to change throughout the night.
