Last minute holiday shopping rush

Victor, N.Y.-- Shoppers flooded the Eastview Mall Monday,The day before Christmas Eve, people scrambled from store to store to look for those last-minute gifts.

Everybody is kind of trying to stretch things into the last minute before they head out to meet their families, Matt Dolton said he stopped to pick up gifts for his mom before he headed upstate to his parents home.

I think there is actually a certain part of me that likes the rush of it, Dolton said, I feel like I make better decisions when Im the pressure is on.

While Dolton said he is used to the hectic holiday rush, he said things seems a little more stressful and much more crowded this year.

Laurie Matthews said this was the first time shes had to do last-minute shopping. Normally, I'll put things on lay away and put things away during the year but this year, it wasn't like that for me.

Many blamed the weather; Matthews said it was the snow that slowed her shopping. I waited until the last minute so I thought Id hit it all in one day.

While the shoppers said they could have skipped the crowds and avoid the long times, there are some perks to being late. Matthews said, They had some excellent sales today, I was able to get some pretty good deals.
