Family welcomes home local sailor

Rochester, N.Y. -- A local Navy sailor returned home Monday to meet his 2-month-old son for the first time.

Lt. Matthew Busses wife, Kate, gave birth to their son, Ryan, during Busse's recent seven-month deployment. Busse learned about his sons birth on a late-night satellite phone call from the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

"It was pretty overwhelming to get that news that way and to come back home and hold him, that's absolutely unbelievable, Busse said. It felt greet to meet him. Everyone else has met him, so it was good to finally meet him myself. (I'm) just glad that he's happy and healthy, and I can't wait to clean his diapers.

While Busse couldnt wait to hold his new son, his 2-year-old daughter, Ava, couldnt wait to be picked up by her dad, even before he came through the gate.
