Student, residents reenact wedding for class project

Rochester, N.Y. - Here's an idea for a class project: reenact your wedding.

A Brockport College student did just that.

Faith Edgecomb reenacted her own wedding with some of the residents at the Episcopal Church Home on Mt. Hope Avenue in Rochester.

She's an intern there and had her own wedding there, too.

"We asked residents - two from each floor - to be in the wedding party, residents to do readings, and they all helped to do the centerpieces for the reception," said Edgecomb.

"It's good for all of the residents to get out and enjoy this," said Jim Conolly, who got to walk Edgecomb down the aisle. "Quite honestly, it's not just the residents, it's the employees. They are getting to be part of this event. It's nice."

Edgecomb held sensory groups which focused on smelling roses and feeling wedding dress fabric.

She also conducted memory exercises where residents recalled their own weddings.
