Yates Co. woman looking for prized ring

Dundee, N.Y. -- A Yates County woman is looking for her most prized possession.

Pam Perrys grandmother gave her what she called her dinner ring white gold with a central diamond and a dozen smaller diamonds around it a few years ago.

A jeweler told her it was only worth $200-$300, but it meant everything to Perry. It served as a reminder of her beloved grandmother, who lived in Vermont but talked to her on the phone every night for almost 15 years.

Shortly after her grandmother died, Perry faced four cancer diagnoses in just nine months.

Then, her beloved cat, Pipper, also got cancer and later died.

Perry soon began two-hour trips to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment before she got another punch in the gut.

All her jewelry, including the ring, was stolen from her home, along with her laptop, tablet, camera and a ponytail she planned to donate to Locks of Love.

If someone has the ring, Id gladly buy it back, just because of the memories behind it. They are priceless, she said. That was a piece of Grandma. It was hers, there were memories around it. I lost a piece of Grandma with that ring and Id do anything to get it back.

If you have any information about the missing ring, please call the Yates County Sheriffs Office at (315) 536-4438.
