Blanchett dedicates award to Hoffman

London -- Australian actress Cate Blanchett dedicated her most recent award to Fairport native Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Sunday, Blanchett won a BAFTA, the British equivalent of an Oscar, for acting in Blue Jasmine.

She called Hoffman a "monumental presence" and said, in part, You raised the bar continually. Phil, buddy, this is for you. I hope youre proud.

Blanchett, 44, and Hoffman co-starred in The Talented Mr. Ripley in 1999. Hoffman died Feb. 2 at age 46 of an apparent heroin overdose at his New York City apartment.
